As much as I love my Mondays and Tuesdays home with Sam, taking care of a sick baby while I am also sick is one of the most difficult things. Sam came down with a virus a few days ago and generously shared it with me (not sure how Brad didn't get sick). Sam and I were both up throughout the night coughing and overall feeling terrible.
Being the amazing dad and husband that he is, Brad worked from home today so he could take care of Sam. BLESS HIM. I really don't know what I would have done otherwise. Sam was not a happy boy and I was not a happy mommy today.
I then decided to watch the ridiculous Brad Pitt Nazi movie on pay per view - Inglourious Basterds. Anyone seen it? It was....interesting. And as Brad pointed out at the end - it will most definitely give me nightmares tonight. As if I didn't already have trouble sleeping while I'm sick. Brilliant move on my part.
Anyway, today made me really appreciate how wonderful Brad is and how grateful I am to have him as my partner in life. Sam is a very lucky little boy (even if Brad doesn't notice the food all over Sam's face even after Brad has "washed" his face off.) I also have absolutely no idea how my single parent friends manage - especially days like today. Hats off to you all!
